Community Partnership Toward a Sports Society

Written by Dr. Hamada Alantably

The concept of community partnership toward a sports society is realized through the integration of roles between schools, universities, clubs, youth centers, and various sports federations—including the University Sports Federation, the School Sports Federation, and the Corporate Sports Federation. This also involves civil society institutions dedicated to Egyptian youth, all working together to create a unified document that promotes sports practice at the national level, spanning the entire country, in both cities and rural areas alike.

Each governorate or sector should operate within the framework of its specific needs and interests, fostering a sense of responsibility among every employer regarding the importance of making sports practice an essential part of their operational system. Sports elevate the public health of citizens and refine the mind, body, and spirit of all social strata and demographics, starting from the age of five.

To achieve this, an advisory body could be established in every governorate, called the “Governorate Sports Advisory Council.” This council would include representatives from all governmental, private, and civil society sectors, as well as universities and schools. Its mission would be to consult and propose plans and programs that advance the youth and sports movement within the governorate.

Furthermore, a “Central Advisory Sports Council” should be formed at the state level, chaired by the Minister of Youth and Sports. This council would include representatives from Olympic and Paralympic sports, sports federations, specialized federations for universities and schools, the police, and military sports, in addition to representatives from civil society and organizations dedicated to youth at the national level. Its mission would be to consult and propose central plans and projects, review the work of the governorate-level advisory councils, and formulate general plans for Egyptian sports—encompassing both amateur and professional levels—in a manner that realizes the state’s orientations within the framework of its 2030 Vision.
