I was greatly impressed by this distinguished administrative approach that I came across during some reading in the field of business administration. It is a success methodology urging any organization to focus on the big picture while simultaneously paying attention to details—known as the genius of the “And”. In contrast, focusing on one aspect to the exclusion of another, such as prioritizing profits over customer satisfaction, causes an organization to lose a great deal—which is the tyranny of the “Or”.

I believe that in the sports field, we desperately need to focus on the genius of the “And” because it is a participatory concept that focuses on maximizing the benefit from everything related to the sports institution as a single, unified entity. We also need to move away from the tyranny of the “Or,” because it is an exclusionary concept that relies on favoring one method over another, whereas we can actually benefit from the advantages of all while avoiding their drawbacks—meaning, take the light of the sun and stay away from its danger.
