Nighttime Takbeer Phenomenon .. Its Appearance is Mercy and Its Inner Core is Torment

Most homes woke up yesterday starting from one in the morning to the sound of Takbeer echoing from balconies. At first, it looked beautiful—Muslims proclaiming the greatness of God and supplicating to Him, the Almighty. However, with the continuation of the matter into the early hours of today’s morning, some people heading out in Takbeer marches, and Takbeer being broadcast through mosque loudspeakers without regard for the fact that some citizens have work in the morning, that the essence of supplication and night prayer is secrecy rather than loudness, that mixing leads to the spread of disease, and that Takbeer marches will not lift the epidemic but will instead work to spread it—this prompts us to think: Was what happened a means for the return of groups with an ugly face that society has rejected, seeking an excuse to return to the scene by exploiting people’s weakness and helplessness, leaving them with no recourse except to turn to God Almighty?

It would have been better for the calls to be about reviving the night prayer and supplicating in secret to lift the affliction, instead of loud Takbeers all night long through loudspeakers that disturbed sleeping people who needed to prepare for work—and I am one of those people; I couldn’t sleep until morning and went to work with no sleep. Additionally, there are sick people who require rest. More importantly, those marches are poison in honey meant to spread the epidemic among Egyptians, exploiting the kindness, weakness, and helplessness of the masses of Egyptians.

The solution is: Stay home and take preventive measures. Pray and supplicate as you wish, but in your home in secret, for congregational prayer has been suspended by order of the Ministry of Awqaf. Wake up, may God have mercy on you, before it is too late.
