Kisho: A Success Story in the Skies of Tokyo

Written by Dr. Hamada Alantably
A story of struggle, sweat, and hard work, starred by Mohamed Ibrahim Kisho, the 23-year-old champion. This hero, the son of a modest Egyptian family from Bahary—the bride of the Mediterranean—was not stopped by financial circumstances or straitened means from becoming a champion who brought joy to millions of Egyptians. In fact, he earned a scholarship at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport in recognition of his athletic excellence.
He crowned his success at the African and global levels by winning the Tokyo bronze medal. His impressive record includes:
Silver at the World Junior Championship in 2015 🥈
Bronze at the World Youth Championship in 2016 🥉
Gold at the World Under-23 Championship in 2018 🥇
Gold at the World Under-23 Championship in 2019 🥇
Bronze at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021 🥉
And we eagerly await the gold in Paris, God willing! “You can do it, champion!”—this is how our heroes in the ever-neglected individual sports perform. For many Egyptians of limited means, sports serve as their vehicle to face life and prove themselves.
Sincere greetings and appreciation go to all our heroes who honored us at the Olympic festival, whether they managed to win medals or fell short. You will always remain champions, and we will continue to pin high hopes on you. And still, hopes remain possible!
